What do you love most about opera?

Great singing really makes me feel like an overstimulated and excited child again. There’s something so thrilling and exciting about full blooded open throated singing.

What opera would you recommend to a complete opera newbie?

Probably would have to be La Boheme!

What’s the greatest moment in opera you’ve ever seen?

There was something really incredibly powerful and moving watching Peter Grimes at The Royal Opera House recently when Allan Clayton sing “Now the Great Bear and Pleiades” upstage into a door!

If you could see any performer in any role at any venue, who would it be and where?

Piero Cappuccilli as Carlo Gerard at Vienna Staatsoper in 1981
