Name a Seat
The theatre is currently being refurbished at a cost of £1 million following the removal of seats and equipment by the previous tenants.
Cameron Mackintosh, Britain’s greatest theatre impresario, heard news of our stripped-out theatre and has made an incredibly generous gift to us of 390 stalls seats from the Victoria Palace Theatre. These seats, all with arm rests, will make the theatre more comfortable than ever before.
Cameron said: “I am delighted that the renovation of the Victoria Palace in London, which will be home to the American musical “Hamilton” at the end of November this year, has enabled us to donate the original seats to The Grange Festival. I am sure once The Grange Festival has re-upholstered them in glamorous blue velvet they will continue to cosset appreciative audiences just as they did during their long run of “Billy Elliot” at the Victoria Palace and I wish The Grange Festival continued success.”
Could you help us by naming a seat?
It would be the perfect way to support us and become part of the fabric of the building as we refurbish our much-loved theatre at a cost of £1 million. Be reassured that the terms of the new lease mean that the seats are fixtures and can never again be removed to another location.
Your personalised plaque could feature your own name or be a birthday or anniversary gift for someone else.
