A Day at the Opera

Each evening, the park opens at 3pm and we encourage you to make the most of this time to immerse yourself fully in the idyllic atmosphere of The Grange.

To begin your evening why not enjoy drinks and canapés at The Portico Bar with its stunning lake views. If you have a sweeter tooth, perhaps a visit to The Tea Pavilion with its selection of hot drinks and cake will be your first port of call.

Suspended over the monumental steps, The Portico Bar’s beautiful lake views make it the perfect place to begin your evening.

Soak up the atmosphere whilst sipping on some of our perfectly chilled English sparkling wine – The Grange CLASSIC and The Grange PINK both pair wonderfully with a plate of delicious canapés.

The Tea Pavilion

We are delighted to welcome back the team of volunteers from Winchester Hospice to run The Tea Pavilion for the 2024 Festival. Take a seat, relax and indulge in something sweet and delicious.

It is open from 3pm and remains open until the end of The Long Interval with no need to pre-book your tea, coffee or cake.

The Long Interval

During the 100 minute interval you will be able to enjoy your pre-booked dining and drinks. For Dinner in The House, head into the faded grandeur of the historic mansion and savour a three-course menu bursting with the best local, seasonal produce.

If you prefer to dine al fresco choose Supper in The Park, a sumptuous picnic supper waiting for you in your marquee or pavilion.

Alternatively, bring your own picnic and book seating in one of our private pavilions or the two marquees. We can also provide you with cutlery, crockery and glassware.

Dinner in The House

Dinner in the House brings you five options across three courses with a fully stocked and carefully curated wine list, designed to complement both the season and the menu.

Dinner in The House will be three courses including, bread and butter, Grange spring water, coffee, tea and fresh mint tea.

Supper in The Park

When you arrive at your tent you will find everything you need to begin your evening at The Grange. While you enjoy the first half of the performance, we will set out your picnic in gorgeous bowls and platters so that everything looks beautiful ready for the interval. As you return to the theatre for the second half of the performance, we will clear everything away ensuring a blissfully stress-free evening from start to finish.

Private Pavilions

Our spacious Private Pavilions are the perfect place for a group who would like their own space for the evening. They comfortably seat up to 16 guests and come furnished with a large dining table, a serving table, waxed cotton table cloths and enough chairs for your party. For larger groups the The Grange Pavilion which seats up to 30 is perfect for you.

We have a dedicated accesible terrace (John's Terrace) which has step-free access from the Theatre. Pavilions here can be booked in their entirety or, if you are a smaller party, we charge individual seats based on 2 or more parties sharing one space.

Let us take care of everything by adding Supper in The Park or if you would prefer to bring your own food, we can take care of the washing up by providing Cutlery, Crockery and Glassware

Book seats on a long table in one of our two marquees and you can expect a buzzing and lively atmosphere for the Long Interval. Each party is given a generous amount of space either side.

Art at The Grange

Straighten your tie

Step into the faded grandeur of the historic mansion to explore our Art at The Grange exhibition. Each year we partner with an organisation to bring us a selection of beautiful and thought provoking art.

Around the grounds you can also enjoy our sculpture exhibition, showcasing art on a large scale in an appropriately grand setting.

The Festival Shop

The Grange Festival 290

Make time to browse the Festival Shop and it’s wonderful selection of gifts, clothes, books and art. Each piece is carefully selected or exclusively made for The Grange Festival. Here you can also purchase The Grange, Hampshire English Sparkling Wine to take home and continue the celebrations.

The shop is open two hours before the performance and during the long interval.
