A landmark Festival is in store for 2025, featuring a thrilling range of work, a wider range of prices (with more than 5,000 tickets under £100), and some of the most acclaimed artists in the world making their debuts at The Grange.
Join us for Verdi’s masterpiece of heartbreak, La traviata; the greatest operetta of all time, Die Fledermaus; an epic hip-hop-meets-Baroque collaboration with internationally acclaimed artists in Rameau’s Les Indes galantes; the return of Ballet Black; and four varied concert programmes—Summertime Swing, Bernstein on Broadway, Queen at the Opera and a star-studded opera gala in aid of The Meath Epilepsy Charity.

Violetta trades a life of glamour for a chance at true love, but family pressures push her toward a heartbreaking decision. This new production of Verdi’s timeless masterpiece from Maxine Braham and Jamie Vartan features Samantha Clarke as Violetta and conductor Richard Farnes leading the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra in his Festival debut.
Queen at the Opera

This one-of-a-kind concert celebrates the connections between opera and the music of Queen and Freddie Mercury, as well as 50 years of Queen’s legendary album, A Night at the Opera which introduced the world to Bohemian Rhapsody. Experience opera classics alongside orchestrated Queen hits, curated and conducted by Edwin Outwater, leading the BBC Concert Orchestra and an ensemble of operatic and rock singers.
Summertime Swing

This year we welcome one of Europe’s top big bands, The Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw. Together with Dutch jazz superstar Fay Claassen they will be performing hits from the Great American Songbook. This golden age of music (1920-1950) was shaped by composers like Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Cole Porter and Jerome Kern and their impressive collection of classics which have truly stood the test of time. Guaranteed to get your toes tapping and your hearts singing.
The Meath Gala

Renowned Bass Brindley Sherratt has bought together a star-studded line up for a special gala performance in aid of The Meath Epilepsy Charity.
It will feature performances from opera luminaries such as Louise Alder, Wynne Evans, Gerald Finley OC CBE, Alexandra Oomens, Sally Matthews, Huw Montague Rendall, Christine Rice MBE, Nicky Spence OBE, Sir John Tomlinson, Catherine Wyn-Rogers, David Junghoon Kim and of course Brindley Sherratt. The accompanists will be the distinguished pianists Julius Drake and Matthew Fletcher, and the event will be hosted by Chris Addison.

An ensemble cast led by Sylvia Schwartz and Charles Rice, brings the witty English translation to life, with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra conducted by Paul Daniel.

Ballet Black: Double Bill
